Police have finally traced down a woman in Nyamira county who disappeared after stealing a 7-month-old baby boy at the Kisii bus terminus – By Meshack Makau
The woman was said to have sat next to the mother’s boy as they boarded a bus from Nakuru to Kisii where she acted friendly and even at some point offered to help the mother with the baby.
The two were captured by CCTV cameras at the Kisii bus terminus as they made their way into the lavatory to change baby diapers.
They even took turns holding the baby inside the cloakroom before taking their exit. This was said to have been the last time Ms Sheila Nyaboke set her eyes on her son.
Footage emerging from the CCTV cameras captured the said thief in mask making it difficult for the officers to identify her.
Augustine Obonyo, the Sub County Commander in Kisii, while addressing the media on Saturday assured the public that, the police were still investigating the matter and the lady will be arrested charged.
This morning, the police have managed to trace and arrest her in her home village in Nyamira County. She has been identified as Bosibori and she is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday and charged with the offence of abducting a child.
