Nyamira: Boy Loses Testicle After Thorough Beating From A Teacher

Police and education officials in Nyamira are probing the alleged assault of a class Eight pupil at Bitundugusu Primary School, which led to subsequent surgery and removal of his testicle.

The most recent instance occurred at Bitundugusu Primary School in Kitutu Masaba Constituency, and the boy who lost his testicle is still being treated at Kisii County Bosongo Hospital

According to medical personnel, the child was taken to the facility with highly swollen reproductive organs and was admitted.

Upon inspection, the physicians discovered that one of his testicles had been irreversibly injured in a condition known as ‘testicular torsion,’ necessitating a surgical procedure to alleviate the boy’s agonizing pain.

“He was brought to us in a critical condition. We performed an emergency operation on him last Friday. He is still recovering, but is too weak to even walk,” said a nurse.

According to medics, ‘testicular torsion’ can be caused by a small injury to the testicle region or a groin injury, among other things.

It happens when a testicle turns, twisting the spermatic cord, which is responsible for bringing blood to the testicles. Because of the decreased blood supply, there is often significant pain and swelling. It primarily impacts adolescents.

Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital directed the child to Bosongo Hospital. (KTRH).

Surgeons at KTRH advised him to be moved to a private hospital for immediate assistance, as emergency surgery was required.

At Getare Dispensary in Nyamira County, where the 15-year-old boy was taken before being referred to KTRH, medics noted that the boy was in pain after being beaten by his teachers on Friday March 24.

Police in Nyamira confirmed that the boy’s mother had filed an assault report under OB number 14/03/04/2023 and that investigations had begun to establish the circumstances under which the teachers allegedly castrated the boy.
