Nyamira: Bus Ferrying Worshippers Crashes Into Market Stalls

On Thursday evening, a bus transporting worshippers crashed into market booths in Ekerenyo, Nyamira County, killing two persons.

The bus was transporting members of the Repentance and Holiness Church from Migori to Nakuru for an end-of-year spiritual retreat when the driver lost control after striking a culvert and plowing through market stalls.

The church is linked to self-proclaimed “Prophet” David Owuor.

One person died on the scene, while the other died as a result of his injuries while being treated at a hospital. Several more persons were hurt as a result of the collision.

According to Patrick Ngeiywa, the head of the Nyamira North Sub-County Police, the ill-fated bus had at least 52 passengers.
