Nyamira County and Minnesota to Collaborate through Huldah Momanyi Hiltsley

Kenyan-born Huldah Momanyi Hiltsley, recently elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives, has pledged to foster collaboration between her new state and her home county.

This marks a significant milestone, as Momanyi is the first Kenyan immigrant to hold such a position in Minnesota, which Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo hailed as a blessing for the region.

Momanyi was warmly welcomed during a recent homecoming event at Nyambaria Boys High School in Kitutu Masaba constituency, following a courtesy call on Governor Nyaribo.

In their meeting, Momanyi expressed her commitment to establishing partnerships focused on economic development, health, and cultural exchange.

“Our government has established policies to foster relations with external entities. I am confident we can find common ground with Minnesota to improve lives at home,” Momanyi stated.

Governor Nyaribo emphasized his administration’s dedication to facilitating these new relations, praising Momanyi’s election as a beacon of hope for Nyamira’s development. “We are grateful for the trust placed in you by your constituents. Your success reflects positively on our county,” he remarked.

Attending the ceremony, Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Gisairo urged women to aspire to leadership roles, emphasizing that Huldah’s achievement proves that Kisii women are capable of leading both locally and abroad. The collaboration promises to enhance opportunities for education and business development in Nyamira County and beyond.
