Police in Nyamira have arrested a man who is accused of slashing a 60-year-old colleague he discovered in a compromising position with his wife.
Mr. Robert Omwoyo allegedly slashed Mr. Peter Nyakundi on the morning of Sunday, October 9, 2022, after he busted him with his 25-year-old wife.
Mr Omwoyo is said to have been absent from his matrimonial home for several weeks.
He returned home unexpectedly at 2:30 a.m. and cornered the pair.
According to police report,”Mr Nyakundi is from Riabagaka village, Bonyunyu Sub-location.” “Officers from Gachuba and Keroka removed the body from the scene and transported it to the Gucha morgue,”
Locals said that they heard a fight from where the murder occurred, but by the time they arrived, the suspect had already fled.
“I was in my house when I heard the man wailing; they had argued for a few minutes before he screamed.” “I rushed to the house only to find the man lying on the floor in a pool of blood,” Mr Gabriel Ondieki said.
In recent years, the number of homicides has increased.
