Nyandarua Man Faces Land Fraud Charges Over A Fake Title Deed

A middle-aged man was today arraigned in court where he faced several charges ranging from forgery to obtaining money fraudulently using fake title deed.

James Nyangate Okari was charged before Magistrate Ondieki with forgery. According to the court file, James on diverse dates between May 1 and November 20, 2022, at unknown place, with intent to defraud, forged signatures on a land sale agreement purporting it to have been made by the director of soil merchants Kenya limited.

He was also charged with unlawfully obtaining Ksh 425,000 from John Kibira by falsely pretending he was in a position to sell him a parcel of land at Nyandarua

He faced another charge of obtaining Ksh 124,000 from unsuspecting citizen pretending to be in a position to sell him the same parcel of land.

He was as well accused of obtaining Ksh 125,000 from another unsuspecting client pretending to be in a position to sell him the same land.

Appearing before the court, he denied particulars of the offences and was released on a bond of Ksh 500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 300,000.
