A new road construction project funded by a well-wisher has brought relief to residents of Nzalae in Kitui County, as the upgraded Nzalae-Kavenge road now offers improved access between Kitui and neighbouring Machakos County.
For years, the link road remained a basic track prone to erosion, making travel difficult, especially during the rainy season. The lack of a reliable route limited trade, raised transport costs and made access to essential services challenging for households and businesses.
Residents say the newly completed section will help improve connectivity and economic interaction between the two counties, reducing travel times and supporting the movement of people and goods for trade.
