Nzioka Waita Reiterates Commitment To Development

I will not sell my soul to the altar of politics for politics' sake. I will define the agenda to my people

Machakos Governor-aspirant Nzioka Waita has said he will keep the promise of entrenching development, over prioritizing petty politics.

While appearing in a Spice FM interview, the CCU Party leader said the county is reeling from under-development which is mainly attributed to politicians focusing on politics.

“When you go to the voters, they are very wary of party politics. The people of Machakos feel like they have been under the thumb of party politics yet no development.”

Waita, who was the former State House Chief of Staff, said he is confident that the people of Machakos are past voting for politicians and focus on his agenda.

” I will not sell my soul to the altar of politics for politics’ sake. I will define the agenda to my people and will not own the space of talking rubbish in the name of politics. I will leave that to my competitors.”

Nzioka Waita is in the race to succeed Dr Alfred Mutua.

The race has attracted nationwide interest since he is in competition with ‘old guards’ who have tried running for the seat.

Wavinya Ndeti, Johnson Muthama and Eng. Francis Maliti have been cleared to vie in the Machakos gubernatorial race.

Nzioka Waita is counting on his clean record in public service, and articulation on key factors ailing Machakos.
