Nzioka Waita has pledged to convert Machakos into a City Status within the next seven years
Waita said Machakos was robbed of its status by colonialists and subsequent governments and said he will ensure its part glory is restored.
He said it was a shame that young towns like Nakuru had been elevated to city status at the expense of Machakos. This we will reverse.
“I have shared my vision for Machakos with Baba the 5th. We will give the Kamba nation the honor it deserves. This town will become a city within the next seven years.”
He accused Governor Alfred Mutua of transferring Machakos jobs to Makueni County, and said the will not happen under his watch.
We want to develop opportunities for our people and to ensure that Machakos residents fill these positions occupied by Makueni residents.” he added.
Waita said religious organizations in Machakos will be engaged in public participation activities because they are the epitome of honesty
He pledged to ensure adequate supply of water in all parts of Machakos, improve infrastructure and health services.
