Nzioka Waita: I’m Grazing My Cows For Now

Former Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita dismissed reports circulating on social media intimating that he has been appointed Deputy CEO at Safaricom Ethiopia.

Waita, who failed to secure the Machakos County Governor’s seat in the August 9th election, responded on his official Twitter page on Friday, saying that he is resting after a gruelling campaign.

“These streets & fake stories … I’m busy minding my own business & looking after my cows & getting much needed rest!” he said in the tweet accompanied by a video of his cows grazing on a farm.

According to Waita, any career announcements will be made by him personally, so Kenyans on Twitter should avoid any unverified rumours.

“Any announcements on my future will come from me .. so relax,” he added.

Waita’s alleged appointment fueled social media rumors for the better part of Thursday afternoon and Friday morning after Safaricom switched on its network in Ethiopia’s capital city of Addis Ababa on Thursday, officially launching commercial operations in the populous country.
