Governor Aspirant Nzioka Waita has called on residents to count on his leadership to transform fortunes for Machakos county.
Speaking during his campaign trail in the Yatta Sub-county, Nzioka Waita acknowledged that the county lacked a leader who would put into use, the huge budget it receives.
“Machakos County receives a budget allocation of Ksh 11B every financial year but still lacks basic amenities such as water, inadequate access to health services, and poor state of roads. When will the marginalization of our people end?” he posed.

To address the challenges of water in the vast county, Nzioka Waita promised to work alongside his running mate Hon. Florence Mwangangi to ensure every village has piped water.
The duo stepped up their campaigns in Ikombe, Yatta Sub-County, where they promised to solve water scarcity within the first 90 days in office.
Waita also stated that the Matuu-Ikombe road, which will connect Kithimani and Katangi, would be built.

“We have been talking about roads all the time. When you vote in Waita and Suluhu, all of these roads will be built.. We need to erase this shame.”
Nzioka Waita welcomed supporters to back his bid, promising a listening ear to all Machakos residents.
Waita, the Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) party leader, is angling for the seat alongside Former Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti, who won the Wiper Party ticket through a direct nomination.
