Obama Endorses Kamala Harris for President

Former President Barack Obama has officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee.

This announcement, made on Friday, ends days of speculation following President Joe Biden’s recent withdrawal from the race.

In a joint statement, Barack and Michelle Obama expressed their unequivocal support for Harris, praising her as having the “vision, the character, and the strength” needed at this critical juncture.

“We could not be more thrilled to endorse Kamala,” the statement read. “Choosing Kamala was one of the best decisions Joe Biden made. She has the resume to prove it.”

Harris, who has already garnered significant backing from Democratic delegates, is poised to secure the nomination at the party convention in August. The Obamas highlighted her experience as California’s attorney general, a U.S. senator, and vice president, emphasizing that her qualifications extend beyond her resume.

In response to the endorsement, Harris, visibly moved, expressed her gratitude in a video released with the statement. The endorsement comes as Harris continues her campaign efforts across the country, addressing various groups and rallying support.

Meanwhile, Republican nominee Donald Trump has begun targeting Harris, labeling her as a “radical left Marxist” and casting doubt on potential debates until her nomination is official.
