The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leadership in Nairobi County has disavowed Jimi Wanjigi, claiming he is not an ODM delegate.Â
The party’s Nairobi Chairman, George Aladwa, stated in a statement that the list of delegates was compiled in December 2021 and that Wanjigi was not included.
“The Nairobi ODM branch and sub-branches had elections that ended on December 8, 2021, and we have examined the list of delegates and we haven’t found his name at the ward, constituency, or county level,” Aladwa explained.
He stated that the list of delegates from polling stations to branches has already been submitted to the National Elections Board (NEB) in preparation for the next National Delegates Convention (NDC), which is scheduled for Friday and Saturday this week.
Wanjigi said on Sunday that he will attend the NDC as a delegate and life member.
“I’m a life member of ODM and a Nairobi delegate. I’ll go to the NDC and demand to speak “He said.
The billionaire has also filed a lawsuit to contest the impending NDC, claiming that it was convened improperly.
