ODM Slashes Membership Fees To Woo Kenyans

The Orange Democratic Party, ODM, has this afternoon waived its ordinary membership fees, calling upon Kenyans to be registered in the party.

In a press statement shared on its official twitter account, ODM says the waiver was effected due to the underlying COVID-19 pandemic, that has battered the Kenyan economy.

For the next three months, July, August and September 2021, all new members will be awarded membership for free.

This in effect has been seen as the party’s move to register Kenyans for the 2022 general elections.

The party leader, Raila Odinga, has been rumoured to take up the ODM mantle in 2022.

However, talks of a Jubilee-ODM coalition has cast doubt on any other aspirant wishoing to battle out Raila Odinga for the ODM nomination.

The two other contenders for the party’s flag include, Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho, and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

The emerging winner will square it out with William Ruto, vying under the UDA Party, Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Dr. Alfred Mutua, (Machakos governor) and former UNCTAD Boss, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi.
