Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has issued a stern warning to individuals planning to engage in examination malpractice as more than 3.4 million candidates prepare for the national exams.
Speaking at Nyagasenda SDA Church in North Inkisi during a family drive, Ogamba urged all stakeholders to uphold integrity throughout the exam period.
The CS said that the government, through the Independent Examination Council (IEC), has completed preparations in all schools to ensure smooth administration of the tests.
He emphasised that exam credibility is a shared responsibility among teachers, parents, and students, adding that the government will deal firmly with anyone found attempting to compromise the process.
“I would like to ask all people, whether they are children, teachers or parents, not to allow any form of illegality or irregularity during the 2025 exams,” Ogamba said.
“Let the children sit their exams honestly because they have been properly prepared, and the grade a child earns should be their own.”
Ogamba also appealed to parents to avoid putting undue pressure on learners, noting that the government has made provisions to ensure that all students are absorbed into various post-school institutions.
The national exams are set to begin this week, marking one of the largest testing exercises in the country’s history. Security and monitoring teams have been deployed across the country to safeguard the process and maintain public confidence in the results.
