Okoth Parts With Police, Joins Homeboyz

Police FC’s offer to sign David Okoth, according to Kakamega Homeboyz team manager Boniface Imbenzi, was too good to pass up.

According to Imbenzi, the cops also presented Okoth with a lucrative job offer, which the winger gladly accepted.

He also stated that the club is content to let players advance in their careers rather than denying them opportunities as they arise.

“We received requests from other clubs interested in signing our players but David Okoth is the only player we opened an exit door for him to join Police FC,” said Imbenzi.

Okoth, who was crowned Homeboyz player of the month for April, has already been unveiled as a Police player.

“He had three years remaining on his contract and was our first team player. However, as you know very well when a team like Police approaches you as a player and tells you they want to offer you employment then that is very important.”

Homeboyz will look for a replacement as they seek to reclaim the FKF Premier League title that they lost by goal difference last season.

Several players, including former AFC Leopards duo Marvin Nabwire and Daniel Musamali, have left their clubs to join the men in uniform.
