OL – Pajeta Conservancy wins global prestigious award for protecting endangered species

Ol Pejeta Conservancy has received a top award during the World Travel Market Responsible Tourism Awards ceremony in London.

Through the endorsement, the World Travel Market Responsible Tourism Awards are intended to create awareness and understanding while inspiring other players to take greater responsibility.

In a statement from the conservancy’s communication office, Ol Pejeta was awarded Gold for its wildlife conservation efforts.

“Ol Pejeta Conservancy uses an innovative and practical approach to solve conservation and community development challenges while incorporating a diverse land-use model to ensure maximum productivity without compromising on environmental impact,” the statement read.

The Awards were created to appreciate efforts that focus on improving the environment around them by permanently establishing Eco- friendly and effective solutions.

While recieving the award, The Conservancy Chief Executive Officer, Richard Vigne congratulated Kenya for its efforts, claiming it a win for Kenya.

“We are so pleased to have received this prestigious award on behalf of Ol Pejeta Conservancy and Kenya,” Vigne noted.

Aside from wildlife conservation, the organization through corporate responsibility supports neighborhood communities in areas of health, education, resource management, employment and entrepreneurship among others.
