Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit has urged the government to rethink the delivery promises made during the campaign, stating that it was time to be realistic about what could be accomplished.
“They made many promises during that time and we knew most of them were unrealistic. If you followed the promises of Azimio and Kenya Kwanza at that time, it was like whoever wins by October, Kenya looked a little heaven because the promises made it seem like everything is sorted out,” he said.
Sapit believes the government should now prioritise what promises it can achieve and push those it can’t.
“If we try to push to achieve what we promised and we know that we have nothing to deliver the promises, then you are going to break everybody’s backs. You’ll even break your back struggling to make something that you know can’t happen, happen,” he said.
