Omboko thanked his supporters at the IEBC tallying center shortly after being declared the winner for keeping the peace throughout the entire exercise.
“This was just a competition, not enmity and I’m glad we have done it peacefully and I urge we sustain that peace up to the end of the general election,” he said.

Omboko attributed his success to providing proper service to his constituents and being accountable to them, which helped him win the seat by a wide margin.
He was first elected to Parliament on the ANC ticket in 2017 and has since been re-elected on the same ticket.
The MP-elect promised to work with his opponents, inviting them to bring ideas for the betterment of constituents and assuring residents that he will keep campaign promises.
“Let’s now embark on serious business to serve the people,” he said.
He assured residents that he will serve them equally regardless of gender, race, political affiliation, or tribe, and that resources will be distributed equally throughout the constituency.
