The Hearing of the Murder case against Businessman Chris Obure and his Co-accused Robert Ouko commenced today with the Prosecution tabling their first witness.
Kelvin Amenya who was the eye witness at the crime scene when Kelvin Omwenga is believed to have been executed in his bedroom by Robert Ouko took the stand today at Milimani High Court.
Amenya told the court that on the fateful day Kelvin Omwenga met his death, he to the apartment where the deceased was staying and found him with Robert Ouko and some other ladies.
They ordered for some Alcoholic drinks and after some time, Robert decided to leave so he called Kelvin Omwenga and they went to the bedroom.
A few minutes later after the two proceeded to the bedroom, the witness told the court that he heard a bang and rushed to confirm what might have happened.
He told the Court he met Robert exiting Omwenga’s bedroom holding a gun and shouting “Amenya, Amenya, Kelvin has shot himself”.
The witness further told the court that he passed Robert and entered the bedroom only to find the deceased holding the curtain, however, the deceased upon seeing him, released the curtain and fell on the floor.
According to the witness, the deceased was trying to tell him something but he was unable to talk because he had run out of breath.
He rushed outside trying to seek help from his colleagues to rush the deceased to the Hospital.
At this moment, he saw Robert exiting the lift, “I saw Robert exiting the lift, i asked him where he was going leaving Kelvin while he knew he was hurt, he did not reply to me, he just left the gate.”
In the case, Chris Obure is charged alongside his bodyguard, Robert Ouko with the gruesome murder of businessman Kelvin Omwenga.
The two have so far denied particulars of the charges and are out on bond.
