One of the Kenya Alliance’s leaders, in an attempt to popularize their campaign for the presidency in 2022, presented a list of benefits for people, including sex workers if they win.
During their coastal trip on December 7, the leaders Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Gideon Moi (Kanu), and Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya) made a stopover in Taita Taveta County.
Ford Kenya party chairman Moses Wetangula told people in Taita Taveta that his administration will ensure that sex workers get free medical coverage.
Many Kenyans, according to Wetangula, have difficulty getting correct medication, therefore that will be a major priority.
“Every day people work hard to acquire decent medical care and educate their children. “Every Kenyan citizen, including sex workers, will be covered under the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) if OKA wins power,” he stated.
Aside from the medical coverage, the OKA leaders are committed to battling corruption and improving the country’s security.
“Corruption is the most serious problem our people face in the struggle against poverty.” Gideon Moi, OKA co-principal, stated, “OKA’s government would ensure that the corrupt are dealt with.”
Kalonzo offered to assist the locals by converting the area’s national park into a game reserve.
“People in Narok gain from the Masai Mara game reserve, but Taita Taveta, whose territory is covered by the national park on more than 62 per cent, does not.” During a rally in Mwatate on Tuesday, Kalonzo stated, “We will convert the national park into a game reserve.”
Despite the government gaining billions from wildlife, he claims that residents have suffered as a result of the battle.
