One Suspect Arrested with Cannabis in Mbugiti, Murang’a County

Authorities in Murang’a County have arrested a suspect found in possession of cannabis following a tip-off from the public. Officers from the National Police Service based at Gatura Police Post, in collaboration with National Government Administration Officers (NGAO), conducted a raid on a house in the Mbugiti area, leading to the seizure of 15 rolls of cannabis sativa.

The suspect is currently in custody and is awaiting processing and arraignment in court. Officials say the operation reflects ongoing efforts to curb illegal drug activities in the region and underscores the importance of public cooperation in maintaining law and order.

The National Police Service has commended members of the public for embracing the principles of community policing and for continuing to provide actionable information to security agencies. Authorities reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents by responding promptly to reports of criminal activity.
