Operation Fagilia aliens:13 Burundians Arrested at Isebania

Mr.Kimaiyo said the police tried to corner the bodaboda riders who dropped the aliens at the bus park but they escaped narrowly.

Police in Kuria West sub-county have arrested 13 Burundians for being in the country illegally. The Burundians who are aged between 3 weeks and 31 years were yesterday evening arrested in Isebania town by the police who were acting on a tip-off.

Kuria West sub-county police commander Mr.Cleti Kimaiyo said the aliens had just been dropped at the Isebania bus park by bodaboda riders from Tanzania and were trying to board the vehicles plying Migori-Kitale route when the police arrested them.

Mr.Kimaiyo said the police tried to corner the bodaboda riders who dropped the aliens at the bus park but they escaped narrowly.

He said the foreigners are in police custody and they are going to be handed over to the immigration department to take further action.

The sub-county police commander said a crackdown dubbed Operation Fagilia aliens is still on and therefore urged all foreigners to use the right channel when they want to get their way into the country.

Mr.Kimaiyo said they are not going to allow people without valid traveling documents to access the country, He has appealed to the members of the public to support the police in the crackdown.
