Police in Bondo Sub-County have intensified their crackdown on narcotics following a successful operation that led to the recovery of a consignment of suspected cannabis sativa along the Bondo–Ratiya Road.
During the operation, officers from Bondo Police Station intercepted a motorcycle transporting the drugs.
The rider was arrested, while a pillion passenger managed to escape on foot.
A search revealed 65 brooms of suspected cannabis, concealed in a metallic box and two bags, with an estimated street value of Ksh. 32,500.
The suspect is currently in custody at Bondo Police Station, awaiting processing and arraignment in court. The recovered drugs have been secured as exhibits.
The National Police Service commended the officers involved for their vigilance and reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the fight against drug and substance abuse across the country.
