Opinion: Kenya, A hotbed of political conmanship

In 2013, Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka feigned a political deal.

The pretence was that Raila will support Kalonzo in 2017, regardless of the outcome of 2013. – By Henry Kimoli.

Rather than honour this, Raila rebranded from CORD to NASA, and called the Kalonzo bluff.

In 2013, the dynamic duo Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto pretended to sign a pact. The dint of the pact was that Kakenjin and GEMA will rule Kenya for till 2027.

First things. Ruto balkanises the Kalenjin nation to back Uhuru. Until his turn in 2022.

The foursome were not signing up because they loved each other. Conveniently, they were perpetrating their tribal and personal wishes on the Kenyan people.

History has caught up with them. Ruto has awaken from his political stupor to find out that GEMA had bolted.

He needs to herd them back but whatever means possible, including intimidation, political ceasure and whatever other means.

Murang’a’s storm in a tea cup fall flatly here.

Muranga Business Community warn DP Ruto, bans Kenya Mpya buses from Murangá | Kenyan_Report

In essence, there was no violence in Muranga. It is akin to a bar brawl in downtown Nairobi over a well-packaged twilight girl.

The chaos was stage managed by the two groups to create non-existent deep tensions between Ruto and Uhuru supporters in Central Kenya.

Let’s face it. President Kenyatta has zero supporters among the Kalenjins currently. DP William Ruto has zero supporters in GEMA. They left him on 26th October 2017.

The GEMA are in the market for a presidential candidate. Or, depending on the outcome of the BBI, a Prime Minister.

GEMA will not support Ruto. You can bank this. Not because they have any tangible reason, but because they are a strategic community.

What then is next?

DP Ruto must wait for the BBI outcome and sign new political players to deal with it.

He can defeat his boss at the referendum, using his hustler movement narrative. If he does, this STILL does not guarantee him State House tenancy.

For Ruto to decisively deal with his boss, he must lure Raila, Kalonzo and Mudavadi to his corner. He has no other feasible way.

Ndindi Nyoro, Alice Wahome, and Rigathi Gachagua are political toddlers with little, if any, support at the grassroots.

The GEMA community will decide who succeeds Uhuru as their kingpin. Uhuru is GEMA incarnate and will influence this decision to a large extent.

Just like Ruto will decide for the Kalenjin nation.

Jubilee thus should not fumigate its Pangani headquarters alone. It should also deal with the political flies in its midst who pretend to have a following.

And while at it, the law has not been suspended.
