More than 100 golfers are set to compete at the picturesque par-71 Kisii Golf Club this Saturday in the latest leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour, as the popular series makes its eagerly awaited stop in the highlands of western Kenya.

The event will tee off at 6:30 a.m. for morning participants, with the afternoon round scheduled for noon. Golfers from across the country will battle for a chance to secure coveted slots in the tour’s grand finale later this year.

Kisii Golf Club captain Adrian Monari expressed optimism ahead of the tournament. “We are working towards ensuring that this event is a success. Our greens are in great condition, and the fairways are wide enough to allow golfers to enjoy their game. We expect a huge number of players and hope the best team will earn their place in the finale,” he said.

The KCB Golf Tour has already produced standout performances in previous stops, with two teams from Machakos Golf Club recently earning their place in the finale. The qualifiers included Benjamin Mumo, John Masai, Faustine Maithya, L.M. Kamba, Richard Muli, Bernard Mutua, Major Mumo, and Jack Musomba.

“The KCB East Africa Golf Tour is not just about golf; it is about creating connections, nurturing talent, and giving back to communities,” said KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communications Rosalind Gichuru. “We are excited to bring the tournament to Kisii and continue fostering regional integration and camaraderie through sport.”

The tour has so far traversed seven counties in Kenya and reached Burundi and Uganda, engaging over 1,500 golfers and 1,000 juniors through golf clinics. In its mission to democratize the sport and promote socio-economic development, the tour also recently held a caddie tournament during the Nakuru leg, further cementing its commitment to inclusivity.

As the tournament rolls into Kisii, anticipation is high for yet another competitive and community-driven showcase of golfing talent.
