More than 20 people were injured early Saturday morning after an unidentified vehicle rammed into a crowd in East Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. local time near a music venue along West Santa Monica Boulevard, a busy nightlife area. The LAFD reported that at least four to five people are in critical condition, with another eight to ten in serious condition. An estimated 10 to 15 others sustained moderate to minor injuries.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene and began triage operations, coordinating the transportation of victims to nearby hospitals. Authorities said the vehicle involved fled the scene, and investigations are underway to determine whether the act was intentional.
Police have not released details about the suspect or the vehicle involved. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as panicked bystanders rushed to aid the injured.
“This is a fluid situation, and we are actively working with law enforcement to determine the cause and identity of the driver,” the LAFD said in a statement.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or video footage of the incident to come forward. The motive remains unclear as the investigation continues.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
