Over 200 Masters Students Threaten to Sue University of Nairobi Over Graduation Exclusion

A major row is brewing at the elite University of Nairobi School of Business after 200 eligible students were dropped from the graduation list.

The 200 or more master’s students passed their exams and projects, with the results validated by their lecturers.

They were, however, inexplicably dropped from the final list, despite paying the mandatory graduation fee for the Friday, 19th September 2025 event.

The master’s students accuse the Dean of the Business School, Professor Kennedy Ogolla, Registrar Francis Kivindu, and Chief Examinations Officer Dan Chirchir of high-handedness and arrogance.

“We had legitimate expectations to graduate on 19th…we are proceeding to the High Court on Monday 15th to stop the entire graduation until our names are included…”, one of the Master’s students confided to Uzalendonews.co.ke in confidence.

The UON has been in the spotlight over a myriad of leadership challenges and infighting.

The university’s leadership structure has been crumbling under the weight of indecision and court battles.
