Panic as COVID-19 strikes cancer patient at KNH

Kenyatta Hospital as COVID-19 strikes cancer patient who succumbed to the dreaded COVID-19 is feared to have infected paramedics at the facility. The patient checked in for cancer management but developed COVID-19 symptoms and died. Several specimens have been extracted from the body for screening and its feared that more than 10 medics have been infected.


Kenyatta hospital has isolation room for paramedics. As of today, the hospital was treating more than 42 cases of Corona according to a doctor who declined to have her name concealed. In the last week or so, several nurses at Kenyatta tested positive to the pandemic and were treated at the KU facility and discharged.


The death of the cancer patient has raised concerns about COVID-19 infections at hospitals, especially for the vulnerable population. Kenyatta hospital administration remained Mum about the situation.
