Passaris Offers Ksh 100K For Person Who Will Help Find Lady Swept Away By Nairobi River

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has offered a reward of KES 100,000 to anyone who can assist them in finding Ashlay Nyaboke, who was swept away by the Nairobi River.

“I’m offering a reward of KES 100,000 to anyone who can help us find Ashlay. We need to band together as a community and bring her home!” Passaris posted on her twitter account.

The 12-year-old Nyaboke was swept away last week when the river swelled and engulfed her family’s Waruku home.

“There’s been no update, no counseling, nothing offered to the family. It’s a collapse of our system, and it’s ridiculous. Was she able to cling onto life, or is her fragile body now lying in a cold, lonely mortuary? It’s hard to say whether we’re looking for a living or a lifeless Ashlay.

“The truth is, her family just wants to find her. But it seems like we’re not doing enough. We’re not taking this tragedy seriously. We’re not out there, combing through the river and its banks, searching for any trace of her. We need to step up our game. If you live along the Nairobi River, please pay attention. We need your help,” she added.

She also appealed for help from the Kenya Defence Forces and Foreign Embassies.

“Can the@kdfinfo and Foreign Embassies provide the necessary equipment to aid in the search?” she appealed.

Nyaboke and her mother were fast asleep on Wednesday, March 23, 2023, when they were abruptly awakened by movement inside their house.

The water, which had broken the walls of their house, swept away the Grade 6 pupil as soon as they jumped out of bed.
