Passengers Flood SGR Amid Kenya Airways Crisis

Kenya Airways has announced that over the past few days it has experienced an unprecedented surge in demand for the Madaraka Express Passenger Service.

As a result, it has therefore increased the number of coaches on the trains plying through that route, effective this afternoon, to and from Nairobi.

In a statement issued on Sunday, November 11, Kenya Airways said that it will maintain the same capacity for the next 3 days with a view to meeting this demand.

“Passengers are hereby requested to visit our online platform (http://metickets.krc.co.ke), or utilize the USSD Payment option to purchase their tickets,” the statement read in part.

Kenya Railways added that it will continue to do its utmost best to offer a solution under the prevailing circumstances.

“We also wish to emphasize that passengers must report to the Station at least one (1) hour before departure for a smooth check-in and boarding experience,” the statement added.

This has been made by a standoff between KALPA and the Kenya Airways which has led to KQ advising passengers who have chosen not to travel to cancel their tickets, apologizing to its customers over the stalemate.

They assured that they will provide a solution at the earliest opportunity, including rebooking them on other airlines.
