Pastor Ezekiel Wants Suspended TV Station Back Online

Pastor Ezekiel Odero has petitioned the High Court to reinstate World Evangelism TV, which has since been suspended by the Communication Authority of Kenya (CA).

This comes after the Communications and Media Appeals Tribunal stated that it lacked a quorum to hear their case.

Odero, through his lawyer Danstan Omari, has asked the court to stay the CA’s decision temporarily prohibiting the functioning of World Evangelism Television.

“The court to issue an order of Mandamus directing the CA to reinstate the broadcast license and frequency for the TV station,” reads court documents.

Omari claims that by closing down World Evangelism TV, Pastor Odero is being unfairly denied his major method of preaching and sharing the gospel, infringing on his religious freedom.

Omari claims that CA has unfairly denied Odero and his congregation their religious freedom, right to property, and is restricting freedoms guaranteed by the constitution.

“Suspension of the church’s well-known television without adequate prior notice and an opportunity to be heard is part of an unconstitutional path that the CA has taken to frustrate the ministry because they know all too well that he is innocent,” he claims.
