Pathologists Fail To Establish What Killed Musyoka

His internal organs were found intact, and pathologists now believe he was killed in a 'professional' manner.

A postmortem conducted on the body of slain Embakasi East constituency returning officer Daniel Mbolu Musyoka failed to establish the exact cause of death.

The autopsy, conducted at Loitoktok Sub-County Hospital by five pathologists led by Government Pathologist Dr Dorothy Njeru, revealed no injuries that could point to the cause of death.

As a result, following the four-hour exercise, samples were collected for further forensic analysis. His internal organs were found intact, and pathologists now believe he was killed in a ‘professional’ manner.

“We cannot ascertain the cause of death as no physical injuries point to the cause of death,” Njeru told family members of the slain Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) official.

The body, which showed signs of struggle, was discovered by herders at Kilombero River in Amboseli National Park, Kajiado South Constituency, who then notified authorities.

According to investigations, the deceased packed his belongings at his Nairobi home and left all of the IEBC kits at the tallying center.

He went missing from his workstation on August 11, at around 9.40 am, when he excused himself and told his bodyguard, AP Constable Dennis Maina Gichure who had picked him up from his residence, that he was going to make a call.

The family has moved the body to the Montezuma mortuary in Machakos as funeral arrangements are underway.

Family spokesperson Jackson Muimi said his brother-in-law will be buried in Mithetheni village, Mwala sub-county, Machakos County.
