The Government of Kenya launched the second stage of a digital platform through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to make it easier for farmers to register for efficient service delivery and increased agricultural production.
On September 1st, 2023, Phase 2 of the federal government’s Farmers Registration will begin in order to expand the scope of its extension services and subsidies for agricultural inputs.
The month-long initiative, which was started by H.E. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, is anticipated to increase the database of current beneficiaries from the 4.2 million farmers registered during the first phase as one of the strategic interventions for improving agricultural productivity in the nation.
According to PS Raymond Omollo, the National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) are strictly directed to conduct extensive outreach and make sure that the purpose of the exercise is understood at the grassroots level based on the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
