President William Ruto has today hosted 40 Kitui Members of the County Assembly at State House, Nairobi, in a meeting focused on accelerating development projects in the county.

The delegation was led by Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya.

Discussions centred on key priority areas, including water infrastructure, roads, housing and electricity connectivity.

In a statement after the meeting, Ruto said the government was working with leaders across the country to ensure balanced development.

“The bedrock of a united nation is inclusive governance and the equitable distribution of resources across all parts of the country,” Ruto said.

He added that the government is engaging leaders from different regions to ensure development programmes benefit all Kenyans.

“We discussed ways to fast-track priority development projects and programmes, including the construction and rehabilitation of dams, key roads, affordable housing, modern markets and student hostels,” he said.

The Ruto noted that last-mile electricity connectivity and issuance of title deeds to address land ownership challenges were also discussed.
