A helicopter belonging to Pokot South MP David Pkosing has been grounded and is being forensically investigated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Detectives intend to examine it forensically. Following his arrest on Thursday afternoon, the MP was interrogated for the second time on Friday.
He denied using his plane to commit banditry in the North Rift region.
The MP left the DCI headquarters around 6:15 p.m. on Friday after being interrogated about his alleged involvement in banditry in West Pokot and neighbouring counties.
We were told to come back and answer issues of bandit commercialization, that cows are normally handed over to Mheshimiwa so he shouldrespond to money laundering,” Pkosing’s lawyer Danstan Omari said.
“He’s never been in the business of buying or selling cattle.”
The MP denied the allegations, claiming it was a political witch hunt.
“I just came in as a good Samaritan to assist our people who had lost their cattle. “It has now evolved into choppers,” he explained.
The DCI is conducting forensic investigations into the legislator’s green and white helicopter, number 5Y-DPL, which was allegedly used to transport seven men who had been arrested and released by the Kitale Law Courts for suspected involvement in banditry at Kainuk.
Today, forensic experts from the DCI headquarters will conduct a forensic analysis of the aircraft at Wilson Airport, accompanied by Pkosing’s lawyers.
