Flights to and from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport were interrupted for hours Wednesday after an aircraft got stuck on the runway.
This forced officials to divert all landing planes to other airports including Mombasa.
“All landing planes being diverted to Mombasa as officials work to clear the Fly540 plane from the runway,” said officials aware of the incident.
Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Director General Gilbert Kibe said flight departures and arrivals affected.
Only small aircrafts could take off through runway 24.
