Police Arrest Suspect in Mwingi Drug and Illicit Brew Crackdown

Police officers in Mwingi have intensified their crackdown on illicit brews and narcotic drugs, arresting one suspect in a targeted operation within Mwingi township, Kitui County.

The operation, carried out by officers from Mwingi Police Station, led to the arrest of a suspect found transporting Cannabis sativa on a motorcycle. Authorities confirmed that both the motorcycle and the drugs were impounded and secured as exhibits.

The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to be arraigned in court.

Police have said the crackdown will continue as part of wider efforts to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse in the region.

The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to protecting communities from the dangers posed by illicit brews and narcotics, noting that such operations are crucial in safeguarding public health and security.
