Police Arrest Suspect, Recover Stolen Items and Cannabis in Yala

Police in Yala, Gem Sub-County, Siaya County, have arrested one suspect and recovered stolen property along with narcotics following an intelligence-led operation.

The Thursday evening raid was conducted by officers from Yala Police Station after a tip-off from members of the public.

During the operation, police seized several suspected stolen goods, including electronic devices, household items, and assorted tools.

They also recovered several rolls of cannabis and related narcotic substances.One male suspect was arrested at the scene, while his accomplices escaped.

The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to be arraigned in court after investigations are completed.

The recovered items have been secured as exhibits.

The National Police Service lauded residents for their cooperation and urged the public to continue providing timely information to help curb crime and drug abuse in the region.
