Police Arrest Two in Tana River County Crackdown on Illicit Brew

Police officers from Bura Police Station in Tana North Sub-County, Tana River County, have arrested two suspects in an intensified crackdown on illicit alcohol.

The suspects were apprehended during a routine daytime patrol in Kambi Moto Village, where they were each found in possession of 40 litres of makole, a locally brewed illicit drink. The officers promptly seized the brew, which has been secured as evidence.

Authorities confirmed that both suspects are in custody and will be processed before being arraigned in court. The National Police Service (NPS) commended the Bura police team for their swift action and reiterated its commitment to eradicating illicit brews, which they said continue to endanger public health and safety.
