Police in Nyandarua County have arrested two suspected drug traffickers after intercepting a vehicle ferrying sacks of what is believed to be narcotic drugs along the busy Nakuru–Nairobi Highway.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at Soko Mjinga, where officers stopped a black Nissan X-Trail, registration number KDN 051S, during a routine operation.
The vehicle, which had two occupants, was escorted to Magumu Police Station for further inspection.

A detailed search at the station led to the recovery of several sacks containing a dry, green substance suspected to be illegal drugs. The two suspects were immediately taken into custody and are expected to face charges once investigations are complete.
In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) reaffirmed its commitment to fighting drug trafficking across the country and urged members of the public to continue sharing information that can help curb the vice.
Authorities say the seized consignment will be subjected to forensic analysis to confirm its nature before being presented as evidence in court.
