Police Arrest Woman with 154 Rolls of Bhang in Bungoma

A woman was arrested on Sunday in Bungoma West Sub-County after police recovered 154 rolls of bhang during a raid at her residence, authorities have confirmed.

The operation, carried out by officers from the National Police Service (NPS), followed a tip-off from members of the public. In an official statement, the NPS said the suspect, identified as Beatrice Nekesa Wafula, was apprehended at her home in Nabuloli Village where the illicit substances were discovered.

The seized bhang has been secured at Sirisia Police Station, where the suspect is currently being held. She is expected to be arraigned at the Sirisia Law Courts in the coming days.

The police commended the local community for their cooperation, highlighting the importance of public involvement in the ongoing war against narcotics.

“The National Police Service reiterates its unwavering commitment to eradicating illegal drugs within our society,” the statement read, as the NPS pledged to intensify efforts against drug trafficking and abuse.
