The security team attached to the ongoing ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu North Rift’ swiftly responded to a distress call of marauding bandits that stole 225 goats grazing at Ngaratuko Grazing within Baringo North Sub-County.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the security team subdued the bandits after a fierce fire exchange, hence recovering all the stolen animals.

“We acknowledge the vital role played by the local communities in the fight against banditry and cattle rusting, and commend them for their support that lead to the recovery of the stolen livestock,” said NPS.

According to reports, the banditry in the area has claimed the lives of many Kenyans and resulted in the theft of thousands of animals.

The “Maliza Uhalifu Operation” has been very helpful in locating stolen commodities and livestock.

The National Police Service has been working hard to reduce the threat of banditry that has afflicted impacted sections of the country for the past few years.
