The National Police Service has assured that it will play a positive role in ensuring peaceful elections in the upcoming August 2022 elections.
Dr. Mark Leruk of the National Police Service stated in a Report Launch by Peace Actors on Thursday that the NPS will support and collaborate with state and non-state actors, particularly those mandated to conduct free, fair, and transparent elections.
“We are providing support to the IEBC, Judiciary and key institutions like NCIS and the NPS has given guidelines on our conduct particularly to ensure that they are well facilitated to perform their respective roles,” said Leruk.
Women aspirants and people with disabilities, according to Dr. Mark, should be given special attention and protection.
