More than 24 hours after invasion, police officers arrived Tuesday morning at Northlands City, a Kenyatta family-owned estate along Kiambu County’s Eastern Bypass that was raided by hundreds of unknown goons on Monday during anti-government protests.
The group was armed with power saws and machetes and felled a number of trees before escaping with an unknown number of sheep from there.
Following the raid, dozens of sheep were stolen, trees were cut down, and a portion of the property was later burned down.
Officers arriving on the scene found several temporary iron sheet shacks erected by the invaders, as well as what appeared to be a subdivision on the said land.
The land’s existing irrigation system was also uprooted, and the pipes were then used to fence the parcels.
Northland City employees have already begun demolishing the shacks while officers assess the situation.
