Police Imposter Arraigned In Court

A man has been arraigned before a Milimani law Court and charged with impersonating a public officer at Eureka Club in Nairobi. 

However, the accused, Joseph Otim Mwando pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Micheni Wendy.

According to the charge sheet, Otim is accused that on 12th March 2022 at around 04:15 p.m at Eureka Club in Nairobi he falsely presented himself to be a person employed by the National Police Service, a fact he knew to be false.

Otim also denied an alternative charge of being found in possession of government stores namely 1 pair of handcuffs S/NO 02108 belonging to discipline forces, reasonably suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.

The accused was released on a Sh 100,000 bond with an alternative Sh 50,000 cash bail.

The case is set for mention on March 28, 2022.
