Police Recover Over Ksh6 Million Bhang Stashed In Ongata Rongai Church

Police officers in Ongata Rongai in Kajiado North Sub County seized 26 bags of bhang worth street value of Ksh.6,240,000 stashed inside Africa B church in the Kware area.

The police reportedly acted on a tip-off from the members of the public before they apprehended two suspects suspected to have stashed the bhang.

During the operation, police officers also recovered a goat that had been reported missing and slaughtered inside the church.

Other suspected stolen electronics were also recovered from the scene.

The incident was confirmed by the police commander of Kajiado North sub-county, Abduba Hussein, who stated that the area chief, Esther Njeri, received information from the church that the suspects were running an illegal business.

“The two had slaughtered a goat belonging to one Jessie Muthiga Albert of The exhibits were found stored in the said local church,” stated the police commander.

Locals who were conducting a vigorous search for a missing goat smoked the suspects out of their church hideout.

Muyumbu Peter, 37, and Geoffrey Gilado, 45, were rescued from an enraged mob, but after a brutal beating.

After subduing the ‘worshippers’, the mob attempted to bring down the semi-permanent church, but were restrained by police officers who arrived in time.

The two were rushed to Saitoti Hospital, where they are being treated for serious injuries pending their arraignment.
