The National Police Service has revealed details on the viral video of a woman crying hopelessly inside a speeding Toyota Probox.
The car, with the registration number KBJ 835Z along Thika road attracted the attention of netizens as it sped down Thika Road with its passenger door wide open.
Attempts to halt the automobile were ineffective, and the driver drove away, raising fears of a kidnapping.
However, Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso has ruled out kidnapping after investigations into the incident.
“This was not a kidnapping situation as thought from the clip. It was a boyfriend-girlfriend situation disagreement after a day out. She’s a student at KU and had a scuffle with her boyfriend who wanted her to accompany him for the evening.” Shioso told Kenyans.
However, the driver will be charged for overspeeding, and dangerous driving.
