A police car has been set on fire as the mayhem between police and demonstrators in Nairobi’s Kawangware neighborhood got nasty.
According to authorities, no officers were hurt during the incident in the Muslim area.
The police saloon car was one of dozens of vehicles in the region engaged in running engagements with demonstrators. This occurred as police attempted to prevent the demonstrators’ convoy from leaving Kawangware.
The group had trailed the cops for a while until the car diverted and parked before fleeing. The incident was criticized by Nairobi Police Commissioner Adamson Bungei.
He stated that no injuries were reported during the drama. Bungei stated that no arrests were made as a result of the incident.
Protesters threw stones at police officers during the running fight in the area.
