Politician in court over alleged theft of Malaria testing kits

A businessman and politician Lancoh Kali Wambua was today charged with stealing at the Milimani law courts. The accused was arraigned before chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku. – By Meshack Makau.


Mr. Wambua who was once an aspirant of The Member of County Assembly seat for Matinyani ward in Kitui County, was said to have stolen 50 packets of malaria testing kits and 71 packets of determine HIV testing Kits.


The alleged theft was said to have occurred on December 10, 2020 at Gatkim Plaza along Temple road in Nairobi CBD. The testing kits had an estimated value of Ksh. 129,600. The professed kits were claimed to be the property of Stephen Omburo Onduto.


The accused however pleaded not guilty of the charges and was released on Ksh. 100,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh. 40,000.
